Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SangAI collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. SangAI is a personal AI assistant project operated by Sang ("we", "us"). You can reach us at sang@sangai.today.
It covers the website at www.sangai.today, including its chat and voice features.
Chat messages
When you chat with SangAI on the website, your messages and the conversation so far are sent from our server to third-party AI model providers so they can generate a reply. We do not store the content of your messages. Our server keeps only operational records, such as which model answered and how long it took.
These providers process your messages under their own terms and privacy policies. Some of them may keep prompts or use them to improve their services, especially on free tiers. Please do not enter passwords, financial details, health information or anything else sensitive in the chat.
On-device models
If you pick a model that runs in your browser, the model files are downloaded to your device and the conversation is processed there. Those messages are not sent to us or to an AI provider. On-device voices work the same way: their model files are downloaded from this site or from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) the first time you use them, and speech is made in your browser. Hugging Face sees the download request, like any website you visit, but never the text being spoken.
Voice
Voice input uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Depending on your browser, audio may be processed on your device or sent to the browser maker's speech service (for example Google for Chrome) under that company's privacy policy. SangAI does not receive or store your audio; only the recognised text is used as a chat message. Spoken replies are generated in your browser.
Live mode is different: while a Live call is open, your microphone audio streams through SangAI's server to Google's Gemini voice service, and its spoken reply streams back the same way. Google processes that audio under its own privacy policy. SangAI relays the audio without recording or transcribing it. Beyond the standard logs described below, it keeps only connection timings and audio-quality counters, and it limits how many calls each IP address can start. Audio stops flowing when the call ends.
Information stored in your browser
The website saves your settings, such as conversation mode, model and voice, in your browser's local storage. Downloaded model and voice files are kept in your browser's cache storage so they don't need to be downloaded again. This data stays on your device, and you can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Bot protection
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep automated abuse away from the chat. Turnstile processes your IP address and browser signals to decide whether a request comes from a person. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics
The homepage uses Google Analytics to count visits and understand how the site is used. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Server logs and rate limits
Like most websites, our web servers keep standard access logs: IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer and browser user agent. We use them to run the site, fix problems and protect it from abuse. They are deleted automatically after about 14 days. To prevent abuse, the chat limits how many requests each IP address can make per minute. That counter is kept in memory only and is not saved.
Children
SangAI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
Our servers and the services mentioned above may process information in countries other than yours, including Vietnam and the United States.
Your choices
- Use an on-device model if you don't want your messages sent to an AI provider.
- Clear this site's data in your browser to remove saved settings and downloaded models.
- Block cookies or use the opt-out add-on to stop Google Analytics.
- Email us to ask what we hold about you or to ask us to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
